2025 MOLN Policy & Advocacy Immersion Workshop

Description
The 2025 MOLN Policy & Advocacy Immersion Workshop will be held on November 12th and 13th. MOLN is providing nurses, nursing students, and healthcare professionals with the opportunity to take a deep dive into the legislative process, including how to influence policy through grass roots action and how to testify at a public hearing. This two-day event provides hands on experiences including participating in mock legislative hearings at the state capitol. All of this is presented in a safe and supportive environment with other nurses and students who have similar interests.
Day 1 of the workshop will be held at Bethel University located at 3900 Bethel Drive, St. Paul, MN 55112. The workshop will be held in the Olson Boardroom.

- 9:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Advocacy 101
- 10:00 AM - 10:15 AM: Break
- 10:15 AM - 11:15 AM: Legislative Rulemaking
- 11:15 AM - 12:00 PM: Head, Heart, & Wallet: Developing Effective Messaging
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Coalition Building
- 2:00 PM – 2:15 PM: Break
- 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM: Lobbyist Panel: Building Effective Testimony
- 3:15 PM - 5:00 PM: Small Group Work on Testimony
Day 2 of the workshop will be at the Minnesota Senate Building located at 95 University Ave W., St. Paul, MN 55155.

- 9:15AM – 9:50 AM: Group 1 Testimony
- 9:50 AM - 10:00 AM: Break
- 10:00 AM - 10:35 AM: Group 2 Testimony

Registration: Pre-registration is required for participation in the event. Registration deadline: November 1, 2025

Registration is also open to student nurses currently enrolled in nursing education and health care administration programs.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY We encourage you to send a qualified substitute if you cannot attend. Registration fees, less a $50.00 enrollment processing fee, will be refunded to participants who cannot attend and notify the MOLN office in writing of the cancellation before October 25, 2025. No refunds will be made after October 25, 2025. There will be no refunds due to inclement weather.
Lodging: We may suggest Radisson Hotel St. Paul Downtown, which is in close proximity to the event.
